keloid is an enlarged scar that is usually hard and projects above the skin surface. They are the result of overgrowth of fibrous tissue, following healing of a cutaneous injury, and cause morbidity. Keloids may develop on any part of the body; however, the central chest and upper back are especially prone to keloid formation.
