Skin cancer is a malignant tumor that grows in the skin cells. Majority of skin cancers are caused by excessive sunlight and occur on the head, neck area, backs of hands and forearms, and any other areas often not protected from sun exposure. There are three types of skin cancers: Basal Cell Carcinoma, Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Malignant Melanoma. Non-melanoma skin cancers, including squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma, are the most frequently diagnosed forms of skin cancer in India.
